Art Junction provides an open platform where creativity can unfold free from accustomed distractions. A unique atmosphere of an entirely new environment, developing interrelationships among artists from different geographical locations having varied social, religious and cultural perspectives, foster collaboration, encourage experimentation, exchanges and dialogues among practicing and emerging artists.
The prehistory of Art Junction residency begins with a dream of artist Chiman Dangi. Art residency in the village was his dream for many years. To raise awareness of rural art and culture that is being lost in a globalized world, to bring a positive changes between the global and the local culture, and to promote these community art forms in the new directions. Even today the village has many objects on which contemporary artists and traditional artists can work in collaboration, giving new life into contemporary art.
So in 2009 the land was bought in Badanga, Udaipur. After a few years in the city of Udaipur, it was opened to artists in 2013 and named Art Junction Residency. Now Art Junction has been moved to our own location in the small tribal village of Badanga near Udaipur
Art Junction is an organic and Eco friendly residency. Natural beauty of Udaipur and rural area has always attracted artists for being its painters, historians or filmmakers. People are inspired by this city and its surroundings.
Renowned Indian artists A. Ramachandran, got the highest award of India (Padma Bhushan) in the field of art and culture. prof. Suresh Sharma(Kala Ratna award), prof. Lakshmi Lal Verma, Lalit Sharma and others visited Art Junction residency and created their painting of local landscape.
Art Junction residency has hosted more than 100 artists from around the world. Many workshops were organized in collaboration with government of India and government of Rajasthan, collective sicca and many other art institutions.
Founder and Director

Dr. Chiman Dangi is a multi-disciplinary artist of Udaipur, He was raised in a small village of Jodhpur, Rajasthan; in 2014 graduated with Ph.D. and Masters 2003 in Visual Art from MLS University Udaipur. Currently has been awarded with the Post Doctoral Fellowship for New Media Art.
Earlier he has been awarded research Fellowship, Junior Artist Fellowship Ministry of Culture, India. Horizons Arts nature in Sancy & Galleries Pave Haut 3 Quai Montébello Paris France. Since 2009, founder Director of the Kaman Art Foundation, he has been organising the Sowing Seeds International Artists Village Residency Rajasthan, India. After successfully seventh year sowing seed village art residency (that is movable) so he start permanent Art junction international artist residency in Udaipur. Art Junction organizes Art as Dialogues seminars. His own artwork exhibits at museums and galleries internationally. He has worked on several commissions, among others the Foreign also President of Singapore have private collection.
